Welcome to my online portfolio.
My name is Antal Fekete. I live and work in my lovely home town, Kalocsa, Hungary. I am a licensed tour guide since 2001 and also a member of Association of Hungarian Guides. In this site, you'll find background information and photos about Kalocsa and its close surroundings. When visiting Hungary, do not forget to visit one of the oldest towns of it. It will be my pleasure to be your personal guide. |

The red gold
Red gold is paprika. Originally from Mexico it found a new home in Kalocsa. As a settlement growing paprika is mentioned for the first time in a document of the Archiepiscopal Archieves, dated 1729. The unique Paprika Museum shows the preparation and the sale. |
This is me.
The art of wall-painting can be found in Hungary only in Kalocsa and its region. The women used to decorate the upper part of the whitewashed walls of rooms and kitchens with streaks in many colours and painted colourful flowers on them. In the picture above I am standing in the House of Culture in Oregcserto, a village near Kalocsa. |
